Whitney’s Tarot Emporium // Love, Gravy Boat Style

Written by on August 26, 2021

Editor’s Note: This is something fun we’ve been doing in the Discord’s Quid Pro Roll channel (bit.ly/goblindiscord). We thought it’d be fun to publish them as a series on Patreon and the blog for the next few weeks. Enjoy, and thanks, Whitney, for letting us use these!

Okay, first of all while I was shuffling, four cards fell out of the deck. True to Tarot tradition, these cards might have pertinent messages. For those of you following this discussion, I think you’ll find some familiar faces here.

Well, it’s not surprising to see Cups represented. You’re talking about love, after all.

I’m doing a bit of a different reading for Gravy Boat. The first card is going to be a situation; the second card is what he needs to know; and the third card is the advice.

1) Seven of Cups (inverted)

As indicated, cups symbolize the water element and associated with love, emotions and relationships. This is the same card Aelita had in her reading. It involves choices and daydreaming. However, because it’s inverted, what that means things are moving forward for Gravy Boat. Someone already made a choice for him, or he’s in a position where he can turn his dreams into a reality. This is an indicator that if he wants true love, the time is now. No more hesitation.

2) The Moon

Okay, Aelita had this come up when I drew two extra cards for her.

Nothing is what it seems when the Moon card is out. There may be things going on around Boat, or within Boat himself, that are hidden. Hidden motives, secrets, and again, things aren’t what they seem. Things seem pretty unclear, and that’s acting as an obstacle for Boat. It’s causing high emotions, or causing his imagination to run amok.

For whatever reason, this lack of clarity is causing Boat to hesitate.

3) The Page of Cups

So, this symbolizes possible advice. If you look carefully, you’ll see a fish peeking out of the goblet. Messages and ideas are coming out of the subconscious, that Boat may need to pay attention to. It could help him work through this dreamy, chaotic state that the Moon cards relates to. Be open to such things, and something happy will come for Boat; love and even a clear flash of insight that will help him navigate.

And to cement things a bit, remember a fourth card fell out. Here it is:

4) The Sun

This is fantastic. Optimism. Clarity. A bright future.

So, I guess the advice would be: Quit dilly-dallying and go for it! But watch out and go for the right person; not everything is as it seems. Look for those little messages, like synchronicities, etc, to guide you.

And quit yanking on the Moon Pendant!

Once again, I apologize for all shenanigans that may occur from these readings…kind of.
